Who are we?
Hi, we’re Bristol Jets Cheerleading Squad! We’re a university group with a range of teams for all levels. Our members range from beginners, or others with dance and gymnastics experience to those with cheerleading backgrounds of over 15 years!
We are made up of 9 squads. These include our extraordinary Levels 1, 2 and 3 teams who compete with routines including stunts, tumbles, dance and jumps; our remarkable Level 1, 2 and 3 Stunt Groups compete with a routine made up solely of stunts.
Our amazing Pom team are reigning nation champions and compete with an impressive dance based routine. Finally, our wonderful Gameday and Varsity squads who represent us at sports events and competitions, cheering the University of Bristol on to victory.
our story
Our aim is to raise enough to enter 4 competitive teams into the prestigious national cheerleading competition: Legacy Cheer and Dance University National Championships! This will be the biggest and most important competition of the season - and we can’t do it without you!
Despite cheerleading being a dynamic, demanding and strenuous sport, it isn’t part of British University & Colleges Sport (BUCS). This means that we receive little amount of funding from the University's sports programme, which has in fact has decreased over the past two years. Combined with the price of competitions increasing year-on-year, it is putting more and more of a strain on our society.
Cheerleading is a very expensive sport and there’s only so much we can ask of our student athletes regarding fees. We want our sport to be inclusive and as accessible as possible to any student, so they don't miss out on pursuing the sport they love because of financial restraints.
Our goal is to make it to three competitions this year with our three levels teams, three stunt groups and pom troupe. Every athlete and alum of Bristol Jets will tell you that these events are the highlight of the season. We train all year to perform our routines across the country and our members put their all in. Not only are these days the most rewarding, but also where our teams bond the most and therefore the ones that they will remember throughout Uni and reminisce about for the rest of their lives.
Where will the money go?
We are raising money to enter our teams into Legacy Cheer and Dance University National Championships, taking place in March 2025 in Birmingham. The competition entry fee for each athlete on a levels team is £49.50. For each student on a Stunt Group, the fee is £25. All the money we receive will go directly towards these entry costs.

- £49.50 will go on a Level or Pom athlete's entry fee
- £25 will go on a Stunt Group athlete's entry fee
- We have 18 athletes on each of our Levels teams and 12 athletes on our Pom team. This totals 66 students, some of which also require a £34 crossover fee due to competing with two teams, which will bring the total cost to £3,335.
- Our goal is to raise £1,850 of this total cost to help make it possible for Bristol Jets to compete on this national stage!
