Help us to solidify our community and build a legacy

- ABOUT Kingdom Hub -

Kingdom Hub is a new Bristol SU affiliated society dedicated to creating a true sense of belonging and community for Black Christian students. We recognise and understand the unique experiences of Black Christians and strive to provide a safe, supportive, and spiritually enriching environment.

Without the amazing support of the Student Inclusion Team's Belonging Fund, where we were awarded the full amount of £500, we simply would not have been able to organise our inaugural annual retreat which took place from 21st to 23rd February 2025.

- RAISING FUNDS FOR NEXT YEAR'S ANNUAL RETREAT -

Organising the retreat takes months of planning and preparation and we would appreciate any support and donations to keep the amazing experiences we are creating at Kingdom Hub going. Through funding next year's retreat, you'd be helping us to solidify a community and start a legacy that we hope will far outlive the original Kingdom Hub committee and community.

Through our annual retreat, we aim to be more than just a gathering place; we strive to be a home away from home for those seeking to connect with others who share both their faith and cultural background.

- HONOURING AND CELEBRATING AFRICAN FAITH -

African Christianity, particularly West African Christianity, is filled with cultural elements that shape worship, community life, and the expression of faith. Kingdom Hub was founded to change this by emphasising the beauty and depth of faith that is shaped by African cultural heritage.

- being distinctive and inclusive -

Kingdom Hub maintains a broad and non-denominational stance. This gives us the flexibility to be welcoming to students from diverse Christian backgrounds while also focusing on a community that is uniquely relevant to Black students, especially those of African descent.

With your help, we want to foster an environment where cultural influences are not only recognised but embraced and celebrated, allowing students to see their faith reflected in culturally meaningful ways

- PUTTING YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO GOOD USE -

Our minimum goal of £600 will go towards securing the accommodation for the retreat at the YHA Cheddar Youth Hostel, where we held this year's retreat and hopefully in the years to come as well.

If we reach our full target of £1,000, the money will be used to fund all aspects of the retreat. The breakdown of costs is as follows:

  • Accommodation: £595 for two nights for a maximum of 15 attendees.
  • Food, drinks, cutlery etc: £250 - Dinner for arrival evening, breakfast + lunch + dinner for full day, breakfast for departure morning.
  • Travel: £150 - 3 XL Ubers for the 45-minute drive from Bristol City Centre to the accommodation  for approximately £50 each.

We plan to give regular updates on the progress of this project on our social media for key milestones - reaching £100, £500, £850 and finally our target of £1,000. Any extra funds we raise will be used to potentially book a larger Youth Hostel space to accommodate more students!

- OUR COMMITTEE -
