What is project: Intruder?
Hi! We are Ryan, Rina, Evan, and Marcus. We're final-year Film students. We're currently in the midst of creating a set of 3 music videos as a part of our graduate practical project module. We are collaborating with a local band in Bristol to create these 3 music videos for them. We are hoping to raise £550 so that we can fully achieve the level of quality we want to reach with these videos. We plan to have all videos completed before the end of May.
What are we doing?
The band we are working with can't be named yet as they are planning a surprise release of the songs we're creating videos for. Our contributors will have first access to these videos when ready and therefore first to hear some great new songs!
For each music video, there will be a mix of narrative and performance elements. An overarching narrative will be told across all three videos, where we follow our central character through a journey of overcoming one's inner turmoil and the struggles that come with it. Each video will follow a similar style of visuals, including the use of darkness/shadows, dreamlike imagery and horror elements.
How can you help?
With your support we'll be able to take the quality of all music videos to a whole new level. As this this is our last project during our studies at Bristol, we want to be able to make it the best it can be and use as many of the practical and creative skills that we have learnt during our course. You'll help us to do more complex and technical scenes that otherwise wouldn't be possible.
For example, one of the scenes that we really want to include requires many pictures taken from a polaroid camera. Your support would enable us to include all of the scenes shots that we want to accomplish and make these music videos the absolute best that they can be.
Where will YOUR money go?
In regards to our minimum budget, this money will primarily be spent on transporting cast, crew, and equipment to and from sets, paying for water and some food on set, and purchasing some of the major props and set dressing.
Reaching our full target means that we will be able to make these videos the best they can be as we would be able to afford the full list of props and set dressings, and pay for access to better locations.
Any extra funding we receive beyond what we asked for, we will use to buy more props and set dressing to make the locations look even better, we will be able to look into more locations that may serve us better, and paying an extra cameraman to be with us when filming performance scenes.
