HELP US EMPOWER STUDENTS THROUGH THE WOMEN IN CONVERSATION CONFERENCE

In honour of International Women’s Day, Bristol University Women in Leadership (BUWIL) are excited to organise our very first “Women in Conversation” Conference!

The theme for this event is personal growth. We’re excited to bring you an afternoon of interactive panel talks and networking sessions.

The event will take place in The Anson Rooms, on Wednesday 6th March from 2pm to 7pm.

Why are we hosting the conference?

Our society’s motto is “inspire, empower, lead.” We aim to connect women from all backgrounds with like-minded peers and inspirational women, providing a safe space to share advice and inspire each other. The aim of the day is to encourage open conversations, empowering women to become the best versions of themselves and achieve their potential.

Tickets for this event are FREE, to allow as many students as possible access to the valuable insights on offer, no matter their financial situation.

This event is targeted towards female and non-binary students and staff, but all are welcome!

where will the money go?

• The £500 target will cover the conference costs, ensuring we can use the venue for the afternoon, offer tea and coffee to our participants and meet the requirements of our speakers who are volunteering their time.

• Once we reach £250 of funding, this will unlock match funding from the University to reach our goal.

• Any additional funds raised will go towards other workshops, socials and events we organise in the next academic year.

WHAT WE DO

Our mission is to empower and instil confidence. BUWIL provides extensive opportunities to learn, bond and get to know people who can help students with their future.

Networking: career-specific panel events, social and informal networking, connecting you to mentoring programmes with sector specialists

Workshops: LinkedIn, CV and resume sessions, public speaking, internship opportunities

Volunteering: working on projects in Bristol with other members of the society, fundraising

Socials: coffee mornings, game evenings, Karoake, pizza and movie nights

Women in Conversation collaboration events

Last year we had a successful week of Women in Conversation Events and are proud to have been awarded "University of the Year" by Girls are Investors (GAIN). GAIN helps young women and non-binary students learn about, and start, investment management careers.

We are also a Bristol SU Gold accredited society meaning we have worked to generate a positive environment within the university community.
